On April 23rd Monica A. Hand read poetry from her recent book, *me and Nina,* and her other publications. This was followed by a discussion of queer visualities in the internal poetic scape and their relations with soundings, the wider alter-sensorial, and affect. The students in Professor Paola Bacchetta’s class were engaged and very SMART.

This event started as a quiet time at the beach cooking crab with a few friends and has grown into a wonderful social weekend with many friends, delectable food, fun and games. The CrabFest continues to be a Ladies day out at the beach meeting and greeting beautiful women, enjoying the open air at the beach, ending with a warm bon fire and after party. It’s just that simple!! Many have made a weekend of it and enjoy other events in the Santa Cruz area including church services at Innerlight Ministries with Rev. Debra Johnson and or Gay Pride in Santa Cruz. This is now our 10th year. My, my, my….how time flies.
